Black Staedtler 0.3mm Triplus Fineliner on 20”x24” White Paper

With this piece, i didn’t try to easily communicate my message. Microcalligraphy is the artform in which the artist uses words to create an image. There are 3 main parts: the lotus, the koi, and the chain. and in the corners are spilled thoughts. The lotus is a Buddhist icon for rebirth or reincarnation, this pure flower blooming from a swamp. The koi is a japanese symbol for friendship and love. And the chain is a symbol for restriction and limitation. and these all come together to form this idea for how some relationships go. that after a break up or dating, you guys are restricted from this rebirth, restricted from friendship. The chain is made up of only the phrase “IMSORRY”. and as therapeutic as this process was, to let my thoughts fall onto the paper, i still find myself saying i’m sorry. and that i wish that we could be friends still… most guys i wish we could still be friends… one guy… eh… So I guess i dedicate this drawing to you guys and I hope you guys are doing well or at least better.
